huge part of the world’s cultural heritage has been literally built or
carved on stone. Conservation of monuments, sculptures or wall paintings
is the most challenging refurbishment task. In-depth treatment of
materials as stone or mortar is the dream of every professional of the
field.
CaLoSiL is a stone and plaster consolidant which penetrates though
microcracks and fissures and results in the formation of solid calcium
hydroxide. That converts into limestone (CaCO3) in a way similar to
traditional lime mortars by reaction with atmospheric carbon dioxide.
The solvent evaporates without any residues. Chemicals or residues
deteriorating stone or mortar are not formed.
The
product is used with success in the treatment of monument surfaces and
it is characterized from his high degree of penetration due to the very
small particle size (nanoparticles).
